Why Frame?

Why Frame?

Frame is a compliance infrastructure company powering payments for complex, highly regulated industries. We enable businesses to move money with confidence by embedding compliance and payments into a single, intelligent platform. Our ambition is to become the infrastructure layer that regulated businesses rely on to operate, scale, and access services globally.

At Frame, how we build matters as much as what we build. Our values shape how we work, make decisions, and support our merchants. We're headquartered in Los Angeles with a globally distributed team. We're committed to running an inclusive and accessible hiring process. If you need any adjustments along the way, let us know.

Let's solve problems together

Let's solve problems together

The role

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build the product surface that merchants and developers actually touch. You will work primarily in Rails, Go, and TypeScript across everything from backend services to frontend components and the SDK layer merchants use to embed Frame into their products. The surface area is wide. The problems are deep. You will work across Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Product on systems where the experience is the differentiator.

What you'll do

Build core FrameOS platform features including merchant onboarding flows, capabilities and requirements systems, and compliance workflows. Own Frame.js, our TypeScript SDK and web component library used by merchants to embed compliance-aware payment flows. Ship developer-facing APIs and documentation. Build internal operations tooling including dashboards, case management, and workflow automation that make our team fast and precise. Build AI-powered pipelines for adverse media classification, underwriting automation, and document processing.

what we require

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience with strong Ruby on Rails and TypeScript skills, or comparable framework experience. You have a track record building platform infrastructure where reliability and correctness matter, and an instinct for clean abstractions. APIs that are obvious on first read, systems that feel inevitable once you understand them. You move when things are unclear, find another path when a dependency slips, and ship to learn rather than waiting for perfect.

  • Fintech, payments, or regulated infrastructure background is a strong plus, as is experience building developer-facing APIs or SDKs that other teams liked using. Experience with compliance or KYC/KYB systems, AI/ML pipelines for classification, document processing, or automation, or Go are also valued.

you are someone who

Doesn't wait for permission. When something is blocked, you find a way around it. You don't quietly absorb other people's misses , you treat consequences as feedback and hold a high bar for yourself and the people around you. You care about taste as much as speed. The system that feels inevitable. The API that clicks on first read. You move before it's perfect, and care enough that it's still good.

the fun stuff

  • $160,000 - $220,000 base + equity

  • Unlimited PTO, with trust to manage your own time.

  • A wellness budget covering dental, vision, and a free Equinox membership, plus team-led running and spin groups.

  • Daily lunch and a fully stocked snack kitchen in our Los Angeles office.

  • Apple hardware, Frame branded merch, regular company offsites, and a relocation package if you're not already local.

Life at frame

The way we build at Frame is grounded in our values. Alongside our operating principles, they shape how we work and how we win. We want our people to feel empowered, supported, and challenged, and for that to translate into how we serve our customers.

  • Start with Why - We ensure clarity of purpose before acting, building, or automating.

  • Bias to Action - We take ownership, move quickly, and iterate rather than waiting for perfect answers.

  • Rooted in Integrity - We do the right thing with data, money, partners, and decisions, especially when no one is watching.

  • Be Decent. Be Direct. - We collaborate with respect, clarity, and care, even in disagreement.

  • The Discerning Eye - We care deeply about quality, detail, and craft in how things look, feel, and work.
